Very Sleepy, Lethargic hen, UPDATED! Treating with Oxine AH

She is still alive!! I have purchased some Oxine AH, I have been spraying her face, eyes and inside her mouth with it, using the drinking dilution, and have seen much improvement. Her eyes were closed and starting to get puffy and now after 3 days of spraying her once or twice a day her eyes are clear, not puffy. She is still closing them and nodding off and she still acts blind and I have to help her eat. I don't know whether I am just prolonging her death or if she is really improving.

Tammy have you ever had a bird with these symptoms? When I looked it up I thought ocular Mareks but her eyes are not gray or cloudy, just closed!

Responding to bump this post - someone else just posted about a bird with closed eyes. It reminded me that my cats have had closed/swollen eyes due to a feline Herpes virus. Is there any possibility that there is an avian Herpes virus?

From what I've read that is basically what Marek's is. A virus that causes cancer. I talked with the "Chicken Doc" and he seems to think she has coccidious, the non bloody type, so I'm treating for that now. She really looked good last night walking around, bright eyes. That Oxine ah has made her feel better you might want to check into that for your cat. I have been spraying it over her eyes and in her mouth.
