Very Small Eggs...?

Why does our chickens sometimes lay very, very small eggs?!

Some sort of timing glitch, probably, the egg passes to the next step in the egg-making process too fast. It can happen more often if they're stressed or sick, but most healthy chickens lay a defective egg at least once in their life.

These are commonly called fairy, wind, fart, or even rooster eggs. Most will be yolkless when cracked. They actually form when a piece of tissue or other item is passed into the reproductive tract and the body mistakes it for a yolk and therefore forms an egg around it. The size is a result of the "yolk" it is formed around, which is insufficient to yield a regular sized egg. In those that do have a yolk inside when cracked, the yolks are those that have been released prematurely and are therefore very small in size

that is very funny about what they are called!!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge Ya'll! The pic of the one I posted was the smallest we ever got. We got one before that that was slightly bigger and my sis cooked it up and it ad no yolk. She ate it tho!!!
