Very soft shelles egg.

I gave her another dose of calcium, Is it even possible for her to have another egg in there considering i got a perfectly shelled one this morning? Is it normal for girls that just start laying problems to last this long??

Its been over 2 hours since I noticed she was struggling trying to push something out, and she is still struggling now.

She just pushed out this soft shelled egg.... but it really seems like she is still struggling.. could there be another one??

Oh, I'm so sorry she's having difficulty again. 🙁

I don't actually know how long problems typically last for new layers, my girls didn't start having laying difficulties until later.

Maybe @Isaac 0 knows how long new layers have problems with soft shells and struggling to push out eggs.

Yeah.. Hopefully Isaac knows. Here is a video of her now she seems to be struggling just as much as before she pushed out that soft shell one a few minutes ago...

Did you give her another dose of Calcium? and have you placed her in warm water? Let her float in warm water for a while and see if that helps. When mine have laid soft shells they seem to come close together not in the same day though. Then they get over it. She may have something going on with her reproductive tract. If you have the means for a vet an xray might help to find out.

I have a white crested duck that began consistently laying soft shelled eggs with very few good eggs since October. The vet did a blood panel on her in October and found out her calcium levels were to high as I was feeding her supplements, and that can also cause soft shelled eggs. Although she has laid some good eggs in the past several months, it's the exception. She laid good eggs for over 10 months prior to that with only a soft shelled eggs here or there I just had her back at the vet today, and they are running a full blood panel to try to determine why she is still laying soft shelled eggs along with checking her calcium levels again. Will keep you posted what they find out. She will be 2 years old in May of 2021. I would definitely be concerned. Also, make sure she is on a feed for laying birds or use the Oyster shells to supplement. Hope you can figure out what's wrong.

okay.. if anything it seems like she is struggling even more now than before she laid the 1st egg.. I'll fill up the bathtub with warm water for her.

She is really struggling.. There is a vet near me and I could afford a visit but I don't think there's any way I could afford an X-Ray.. The only vet near me that sees poultry is the same one that I took a duck to about a year ago and when I took her in there they offered an X-Ray, I don't remember exactly how much but I believe it was around 4-500 dollars. I didn't take them up on it because I just don't have that kind of money laying around.
