very weak day-old duckling, please help.

posted this in another thread, but i will say it here too, he is now starting to walk, tumbling a lot but hes trying, and nibble his crumb on his own. i hope he doesnt just keel over :( he's been by my side in my room this whole time. i mixed his crumb with water, and strained it, then dripped the solution into his mouth a few drops at a time, letting him swallow after each time. hes still sleepy but is trying to get up now. he was an assisted hatch as he could barely get through the membrane, let alone the shell, so maybe he is a weak chick. i'm fully prepared to nurse him 24/7, and i got up every few hours in the night to drip some more food solution. he's been drinking sips of water with biocare vitasorb B so that might have helped.

thank you :)
(im only 15 raising birds myself, i dont let my mum interfere and her boyfriend is really proud i nursed him to how he is)
i'll post updates if he gets better/worse

thank you :> do you have any advice on how i can strengthen him up? he's still a bit light and unsteady

I’d say support right now is it. Giving the little one the vita sorb b sounds like a good choice an doing tiny drops at a time like you are so it doesn’t aspirate. Warmth and rest for now. It’s not that important it eat since they live off the yolk for a couple days. But if it can eat by itself some warm soupy feed with the vitamin mixed in. Hopefully all your doing will get it going in the right direction. @Isaac 0 ight have more to add.

he's been eating more and more, i was trying to get him to eat as he was very frail and light to hold. since eating he has perked up a bit, and we have put him in a small cage with the smallest duck as a buddy to show him how to eat on his own and keep him company.

another question, anything for foamy eye? my favourite duck jenny, a white crested runner (mother to the yellow ducks) has foamy eye at the moment, no respiratory problems just a cut probably, and we've been spraying her with colloidal silver daily, and she's been swimming in a kiddy pool with fresh water. is this the right thing to do or is there anything specific to give her that will make sure she's okay? thank you for all your help, and any more advice in advance :)

Usually foamy eye will clear up with good head washing. You could try a saline eye wash or eye ointment or some ACV in a bucket of fresh water for her to dunk her head into. For the ACV I use Tablespoon to a gallon of water. That’s great giving your little one a buddy, best way in the world to get them doing all things duck!
