Vicious Rooster help please

Whooaaa guys - for the record I DO NOT whack him every time he comes near me. I have never whacked him! The only physical contact I have made with him is to “lift” him with my foot! By this I mean putting my foot between his legs and lifting him off the ground. I have tried various methods which I have not listed but none of them involve me whacking him! Some methods recommended where to run at him flapping your arms to look like a dominant rooster (didn’t work) walking boldly at him (didn’t work) I’ve sweet talked him, Hand fed him treats and the list goes on but NEVER beaten him!
I did not say beat him. Those activities in bold are what need to be considered. The other reward part is backing away when he is sassy. He remembers, but he can learn new arrangements as well.

We carry an umbrella around my sister’s rooster. He is terrified of it. If we don’t have it, he attacks all adults. He loves their kids though so they keep him.
Thank you that’s another good idea. I’ll try the water sprayer first and if that fails the umbrella will give me another option (and a bit of protection 😂)

I too walk through my flock, and expect the birds to get out of my way, and have no issues with attack roosters.
I've had attack birds, and it's just not worth it! Idiots who attack the giant who brings food every day? Repeat injuries? I hope your tetanus booster is up to date, and that you don't have to go to the ER over these, especially not right now.
And I've never had a rooster who behaved badly learn to be a polite, not human aggressive individual.

Time we treat an old dog new tricks.

Sorry not you, the other poster that you replied to ☺

Oh, no. I didn't mean to imply that you are currently whacking your rooster. What I meant was that whacking him, like the others have suggested, will not work.

Edited to add:
Fearing you is not respecting you. Even a scared dog will eventually bite. Earn your roosters respect and you'll see a difference.

Sorry, I’ve misunderstood and made a wrong assumption ☺️ I really only want to try everything possible before giving up on him. I hoped that the experience of others on here might find a solution that could save his life and my pain (emotional and physical!) I understand that I can’t go on as things are 😢
