Here's a video of how we killed our chickens. We used a rake and a machete, and it was quick and instantaneous every time. Let me know what you think!!!

Wow, that was very cool. We plan on doing meat birds and I was wondering if there were ways to do it with the killing cone since for some reason I just cant firgure out how that works.

I didnt realize they move around so much when you dispatch them. That will definetly be hubbys job

they used a garden rake and put the head between the prongs then cut the head off with a machete.

Quote:Sorry about that!!! The head of the chicken is placed between the tines of a garden rake, and then, with another person holding the body, the neck is stretched. Once the neck is streched, the person holding the rake chops with a machete with one quick chop, then the body is held above a bucket so the blood can drain out. It's very quick, and the bird is dispatched with one chop.

I love how the guy with the 'hawk stalks the chicken. "You, no. You, too far. You, yep!" Looked like a cheetah picking out a gazelle to take down.
