came home one of my polish roosters were dead. I have two juvenile roosters in coop with no hens. No visible injuries on the bird a couple feathers lying around. Freshly deceased wattles were dark red compared to the other rooster. The coop is plenty large for the both of them. If I was misinformed please tell me I’d like to know what went wrong. They were raised together from chicks.

Since you have chicken wire on your run it’s possible that a snake got in, strangled the Polish and wasn’t able to swallow it.
Another possibility is that the 2 Polishes got into a fight and 1 pecked the other real hard in just the right place. Since Polish have vaulted skulls a well placed peck to the head can be fatal.
I recommend changing to hardware clothe.

The description sounds like a weasel attack

I live In central Florida in the city so no weasels here lol. The vaulted skull could be a possibility. I checked and it wasn’t like his brains were pecked out. Couldn’t find any blood on him either
Maybe his head got under water somewhere and he couldn't get out until after he was almost drowned then died somewhere else :idunno

That sounds a little unlikely. Just trying to figure out what happened. I’ll probably switch to hardware cloth Incase it was a snake or something.

im thinking one rooster killed another, ive raised roosters together amd they still fought like crazy, the only way two roosters can ever be kept together is if there is AT LEAST 6 hens per rooster. You may not be able to see any injury's so i would cut off all the feathers to see. Where did you get them? How old are they? Did you de-worm them? What do you feed them?

Got them from Magnolia silkies and polish. They were 5 months old. Yes I de-worm them. I feed them the purina grower feed
