Violetsfeathers Flock

We got home last night, this morning I went out to the coop and I noticed raspberry just sitting in a corner. I picked her up and she tried to fly away but I held on and when she gave up she was breathing hard, which is normal but afterward she was still breathing kinda hard and she would just sit there all fluffed up in a corner and close her eyes.
Even when I spread corn out for the other Cochins she didn't come.

I think she's sick and I don't know what to do

I just went back to the coop and raspberry seemed fine! She was taking a dust bath and Then she hit up and ate and drank and then went outside and acted normal!

I put Marshmallow and Huckleberry in the same pen and Huckleberry showed off for her and tried to make her come to him but he didn't mate her. Marshmallow is still a bit wary. I left and came back and Marshmallow was drinking when Huckleberry was and he pecked her and she ran away. ? I also put the other Cochins in the pen and he didn't mate them either. Usually he chases raspberry around and she stays away from him.

Pebbles was broody for about 10 min. I watched her lay an egg and then she sat for a little bit but when I went to pet her she fluffed up and screamed like a broody and when I took her off the nest she just sat there still fluffed up. Then I put her in with huckleberry and she acted normal.

I gave Marshmallow some cat food yesterday to help with her feathers. She ate it but was unsure if it was her favorite. Today I gave her some and she scarfed it down then wanted more. I didn't want her to have too much though, afterwards I gave her a big juicy grasshopper and she swallowed it butt first after she beat it to a pulp.

Chickens love cat food. We gave Peanut some when she was molting and she is done already, I think Marshmallow started only a little bit after her but she still in the middle of growing feathers. So I started giving her cat food too. I don't think it's bad for them. They used to steal it from the cat dishes all the time.

And I went outside this morning to find Pebbles broody on the nest again

She will be staying locked up with marshmallow until she stops. They get along pretty well.

So I had Pebbles in Marshmallows pen today so she wouldn't go on the nestbox and get broody again. Well when I went to put her away for the night she had layed an egg and was broody on it!

She will sleep in marshmallows inside pen until she is done being broody, she is not happy. Neither is Marshmallow. Sorry Marshmallow but you have to live with this annoying young'un until she is done being broody

I would want her to hatch chicks but it's too early for me to be showing them at the fair and mom doesn't want winter chicks. I don't think I'll have trouble finding a broody in the spring though. :) If I can't find one I have a brand new incubator that I got for Christmas and never used because Marshmallow went broody. (even though I've never used an incubator and am terrified that I'll do it wrong and all the eggs will die)
