The molting Dot

Hmm I wouldn't really think of it that way, she seems to be a relatively nice broody. Not vicious, but not as sweet as marshmallow. If it was January or February I would say yay so we could hatch chicks. But no one is laying right now except her and sweetie and sometimes Scarlett. None of who I really want to hatch eggs from.

I think marshmallow is molting the other half of her feathers now, she is getting much prettier. She has purple/black spot in random places on the back of her head and I'm not sure if they're bruises from getting pecked or what, I'm just keeping an eye on them now.

I have done it before with spice and dot. Not sure how to keep raspberry out of this nest because it is open, has no door. And she has not been broody before so I don't know if she will go to a different nest.

I went back out to check on raspberry last night after I locked the chickens up. She was back on the nest again so I put her on a roost.
This morning she seemed like she was done being broody. *sigh* that chicken is confusing.
Marshmallow crowed this morning.
