:hugs they are with all my other dead chickens in chicken heaven :)

Got two eggs today. Raspberry is still wanting real eggs to sit on. I can't give her eggs until I get all the eggs I need, I only have have one from marshmallow, and one from dot/pebbles. And marshmallow keeps getting out of her pen when she is not supposed to so Pumpkin might be the father instead of huckleberry.

:):/:)

Cool!Naughty Marshmallow.Sounds like some other chicken I know......ha! I mean my little one Harriet!

Yah! Hear that marshmallow? And ya'll need ta start layin' more eggs so raspberry can get some babies!

The fair here won't let you show chickens unless they were hatched that same year. A good excuse for me to hatch chicks every year

Haha!

Harriet?Oh, don't even get be started........I love her to death but she is the NAUGHTIEST THING EVER

Six eggs today! Much better than yesterday's two. But no eggs from marshmallow. Either dot or pebbles is laying in not sure which one, I think pebbles. All of pebbless babies will be sex-linked :D

Six eggs today, sweetie and snowberry both layed. Super cold. High was 2 degrees F. No eggs from marshmallow, I gave her and Dot some cat food. We'll see if it helps them lay.

High today was like, -5 degrees. I thought Sweetie was going broody cuz she kept kicking raspberry off the nest and screamed at me when I got near and did a little broody scoot when o put my hand under her. So I blocked off raspberry so Sweetie wouldn't go in but she went in another nest box. So I thought, " okay, if she's still there in the morning I'll know she's broody, then I left. Later I went back out and sweetie was on a roost and there was an egg in the nest box. But the egg looked like the ones I've been marking as Snowberrys.
When I get two eggs from snowberry and sweetie on the same day I usually mark the smaller, rounder, Cochin shaped one as Snowberrys. And the bigger oval-shaped brahma looking one as Sweeties since she is half brahma. But the egg in the nest box looked like the ones I've been marking as Snowberrys, so apparently snowberry lays brahma shaped eggs. Even though she is Cochin.

I can tell eggs apart by breeds, or I could. They all are a different color or shape or size according to breed. Spice lays small lighter cream colored eggs. Our polish we sold layed larger, white eggs. Cochins lays small round eggs and brahmas lay bigger, oval eggs.
But snowberry has broken this rule, she is at a brahma. Sweetie is half Cochin so she isn't really breaking the rule.

Unless after Sweetie decided she was done sitting in the nest box and didn't lay and egg then snowberry came along and layed an egg in the exact same nest box. But I don't think so.

Sweeties is the only egg we got today

I gave marshmallow and pebbles and Dot cat food. You guys don't thinks that's bad for them do you? I feel like chickens generally don't eat things that are bad for them.
Maybe I should try feeding them scrambled eggs. They've never had scrambled eggs before, I don't know if they would like it.

(ETA)
I found a thread on here about feeding cat food to chickens, it basically said a little is okey especially during molt but too much can be bad

Cherokee was sick. He was steaming and the steam was turning into frost on his fur. He was shaking but I walked him, he's drooling (he has drooled before because of clover in the hay. It this time it's worse) the vet came to look at him. We think there was something in the hay that he ate. The other horses are okay. The vet stuck a tube down his nose/throat. He was a good boy.
400

That tube is 6' long, reaches all the way to his stomach.

Two eggs today. I am 95% sure snowberry is broody. If marshmallow and Dot and pebbles start laying eggs in the next week she can stay broody and help raspberry raise chicks or raise button quail.
