Cherokee is all better now, I rode him last night and he had tons of energy.

Oh, I guess I didn't tell you guys that I have been wanting button quail (AKA Chinese painted quail) for a while now. I have to convince mom to let me get them though

That's great! :weee

I really hope your mom lets you, they would be so fun to raise!!!!

I know! I've been wanting them for less than a year and she didn't want to have them in cold weather so I might get them for my birthday in spring. I've only been able to find eggs on eBay though,I have an incubator but I'd much rather use a broody. Do you think she would break the eggs?

Okay. If you have a small bantam hen! A Old English bantam, Hamburg, Sebright or anything that size would do great I'm sure. If you need a little hen let me know, my brother might have one.

I have a Mille fluer D'Uccle hen, she might work but she's not broody. Otherwise I don't think it would be hard to get a Cochin bantam to get broody

I'm sure she would be great, hopefully you can get her broody! Are your Cochins pretty small?

Got three eggs yesterday, one was froze and split open.
Four eggs today, marshmallow and Dot and pebbles still aren't laying
That's pretty good for this cold weather! You are in the Marshall area right?

Marshmallow is all feathers, when you give her a bath she gets SUPER small. The other Cochins are pretty small, some are chunkier than others. I want marshmallow for eggs though, she can't go broody.
I am about an hour south of Minneapolis
