Thanks! I don't mind hatching this early because it is much easier if a broody raises the chicks in any weather (although I'm still thinking about taking them away from her) but mostly I'm hatching this early because they should be a certain age for the fair

That's a good point I do 4-H fair as well and we are always worried if the chicks will be old enough (last year we had to wait with that year's chicks because of their age).

Muffin has hair worms.

I found out this morning cuz I noticed she had been in a pooping position for a long time (and she doesn't lay) so I checked her butt and there was a hair coming out of it with a turd at the end. I'm going to treat it with apple cider vinegar and/or dietemacous earth in the feed

I was taking snowberry out of the nest box to get some excercise which I do 2-3 times a day to make sure they are eating and drinking. And her foot got caught on an egg and fell out of the nest and broke :hit it was just a bunch of small cracks, I'm not sure if I broke the membrane, there was some blood.
Anyway I duct taped it. I know there is like, a 5% or so chance of it surviving but, I can try right? I'll take the duct tape off on hatching day so it can hatch if it's alive.

I feel so bad! :hit :hit :hit it was the only egg I had from Dot too!

I candled eggs last night I threw the cracked one out because it wasn't moving and there was an air bubble. I threw another one out too for the same reasons. So I got:
2 eggs from pebbles, pumpkin is father, hatching this weekend, I'm gonna put them in lock-down tonight.
3 eggs hatching this weekend 2 from sweetie 1 mystery Cochin. Pumpkin is probably the father.

Oooh, you must post pics when they hatch!!!
