here's a pic i took (ok multiple pics carefully pasted together) of the free range bunch. not counting eggs in the 'bator, chicks in the brooder or under a broody (or broodies for that matter) or birds in various breeding pens (tho you can see my self blue girl in the background). click for the full sized version...
This is a fantastic picture! Love it, and you have some handsome, happy birds there. I also like seeing your coops and hoop-house-style runs in the background. Hmmm. Maybe I'll do something like that for my next grow-out pen...

I wanted to pop in and mention that I have four cull Basque Hen (Euskal Oiloa) cockerels that are 9 weeks old. I'll be bringing them to our local poultry sale (Expoland) next month, but if any BYCer is interested, just let me know. I have one that is recessive white with white legs, one that is darker brown and white with white legs, one that is pretty Marraduna-colored with yellow legs but too much grey, and one with great Marraduna coloring and yellow legs but too small. You can see pictures of them on my website and PM if you are interested. I'm near Staunton in Augusta County.

Hello everyone, I am in Asheville, NC and trying to find a home for these 4 baby chicks:

The first pair are about 5 weeks old, and the 2nd pair are about 3 weeks old. These pics were taken a week ago.

This link brings you to my post that explains how I found these babies.

I was wondering if someone nearby would be able to adopt them, since I won't be able to take care of them where I live when they get bigger. I would be willing to deliver them myself for free to a good home, and I'm willing to drive a few hundred miles (or more) if that's what it takes to help them.

Thanks,
Tom

I really appreciate all of your replies. I live in Bedford County, just outside city limits on 25 acres. Rules pertaining to my deed land restrictions are no swine. I will check out the zoning at the County Clerks office as well when I'm ready. I just wanted to find out any and all info I could regarding them. I live on agricultural land.
