Hi!
I have 2 Show Quality Frizzled Cochin and Silkie mix roosters for sale. Born on June 9th, 2018. They both throw some beautiful offspring. Rooster #1 has 5 toes on one foot and he is the watchdog of my flock. He loves his hens and wants to protect them with his life!

Rooster #2 has 4 toes on each of his feet and he has a very nice cushion!

I have been told by knowledgeable sources they were both beautiful and show quality but rooster #2 had a better cushion (puffier tail feathers).

These guys are both biologically brothers and I would like these guys each to have hens to themselves at their new homes.

They both do attack people though but it may be because I have too many roosters right now. Rooster #2 is less mean than rooster #1. I consistently go to these locations… Middleburg, Winchester, Upperville, Purcellville, Manassas, Warrenton, The Plains, and Leesburg. I would be happy to meet you at any of these locations. Rooster #1 is $10. rooster #2 is $15 Please pm me if you are interested.

Thanks so much! :)

They are so cute! Hope you find them a good home. Wish I was allowed roosters.

Hi y'all!
Anyone from Hanover county?
We're raising our diverse little flock of 33 pullets (ok, and 4 cockerels) and really enjoying it.
We're new to the area but loving it here! 20190821_193826.jpg 20190821_193543.jpg 20190818_091044.jpg

Hey, friends! Anyone from around the Hanover/Mechanicsville/Aylett area needing some extra starter/grower feed? We've moved to the next stage feed and have a lot left.

Yes, what exactly do you have?
Our flock is still eating this as they're still quite young and only one has started laying.
We have oyster shells in a gravity feeder so she and any others can take what they need.

Maybe that will work for your girls and you can keep your food?

Right now, we have about 25 lbs (maybe less) of the DuMor Starter/Grower. My girls are going to start the Grower/Finisher next time we have to fill the feeder they have. Ours is also a gravity style feeder, though what with the humidity, we can't fill it with a lot or it will get nice and cakey. (They don't mind that, but the flies love it and it no longer comes out automatically.)

Just heard back ~ this is her response

“I have used Dr. Gast at Blue Ridge Vets in Purcellville, 540/338-7387...he is their farm animal vet and the only one you want to see there as the bird specialists will run up the bill with poorer results.

Keep me posted on the hen and what you decide!

I just found this post under a P'ville search. Thank you.
Can you recommend a forum or FB page for local birdbrains?
I have just started with birds at my property South of Pville.
It would be nice to meet others locally around here on a forum or something. I have a lot to learn I think. I'm hoping maybe I can find some like minded people here. My friends back home often have another farmer pal to get/give advice, helping hand & help each other when someone goes out of town.

This is a new hobby and I have to say I just love my birdies! Especially the ducks & who doesn't love a duckling! Few hearts are hard enough not to become a little gooie at the sight of those little cute fuzzies.

I have ~20 goofy Guineas and now 8 ducks (started w/ 2 lol).
I'm hoping to find a few pals closeby, I'm new here, just finished my house & moving in

Hello,
I am looking to re-home my 6 month old Black rooster. I believe he's a black maran but I'm not sure as he came home from my son's kindergarten class. He beats up my oldest hen but is good with the rest of the flock.
I'm in Orange county Virginia, and would be happy to meet someone halfway to re-home him.
Thanks!
Amy
