Lots of info to be found and connections to make. There are some folks down your way. LOL- you should hear from them soon. BTW, what kinds of chickens do you have?

I am in Lunenburg County. I have Welsh Harlequin ducklings,Black Sex link pullets and 1 or more mystery chicks.

I live in Catawba. Which is far NW Roanoke Co. I will receive my first chicks this week. Some Cuckoo Marans this week. In 2 weeks I receive SL wyandottes, Americana, and Buff Orpington. Looking forward to this new journey

yup. i'm familiar with the area. LOL

where are you getting your chicks from? I have one buff orpington girl who's a wonderful broody momma (3x this year!) and my easter eggers are my color-givers. otherwise everyone else gives me off white to brown eggs.

Fortunately everyone is starting to lay again after the 'egg drought' brought on by moulting, so I'll start hatching my own eggs again soon.

have you had chickens before? (I see 'new journey' so guessing not?) so welcome to the world of chicken addiction. (for some of us anyways).

The Cookoo marans are coming from Meyers. The Buffs, Americana, SLW are coming from McMurry.
This is my first time raising chickens. I am wishing I had paid more attention to my Grandmothers chickens when I was a kid.
I am very excited...and nervous
We raise and sell fresh fruits and vegetables on Salem Farmers market. So I am looking forward to offering our own eggs. We sell eggs for a lady who lives close by right now.
