Virginia

Hello from Warrenton! I have a gorgeous Easter Egger cockerel, 6.5 months old, who needs a new home. Docile, non-aggressive, grown up around children. We don't have enough hens for another boy, unfortunately.

Hey from Charles City!

So far the only Virginians I’ve seen on here are pretty far away from me, but I’m hoping I can establish connections that will allow me to trade with others locally! I’m hoping to eventually trade quail eggs/meat for vegetables, milk, or anything that I can’t or won’t grow on my property. I have a friend who’s going start a vegetable garden in the summer that’s willing to trade, but so far that’s all I have to go on!

Also, I’m editing to say that I find it both funny and disappointing that the Virginia thread seems to have the least amount of traffic :hit

Check out the "Buy~Sell~Trade" forums, they may get more traffic than your State forum does.

Loudon County here.
Been raising mixed flocks for the past two years. This year I'm trying something different.

I live and work (this is my second season) on a small farm: 5,500sq ft under intensive veg production, a smattering of perennials, and foraging on the 40 acre property. We provide produce for (our bellies and) a single restaurant - on the same 40 acres.

This year I'm delighted to be investing in Icelandic Chickens. I look forward to utilizing a spiral breeding program to participate in the preservation of this hardy breed. We're also raising Black Australorps (to provide enough eggs for the restaurant while the Icie flock grows), Bourbon Reds and Narragansetts. All of our poultry will be raised in a rotational grazing system with mobile coops & electronetting moved every day or three.
