How do you find the local hatcheries? We're in King George County so going to southern MD is also an option.

There are also swaps starting in March all over Virginia they have them through Oct.
That's cool that Ideal lets you buy $25 worth instead of 25 chicks.Also Tractor supply starts selling baby chicks at the end of Feb.

Probably chicken swaps are the way to go. I'll be at several this year. I'll be selling Delaware and New Hampshire chicks all year maybe some Rhode Island Reds.
