Virtual pet cemetary

It's never easy to lose a beloved pet. I think it's safe to say that we've all been there at one time or another. We feel your pain.

It doesn't get any easier with each successive pet and we all grieve & heal in our own way.

Good bye Rox, my lovely stray who came home to stay with me for 18 years. Your 'sissa' misses you too. Though your ashes rest on my nightstand, your memories within my head, I still wish I could hold you when the wind blows cold and the rain pours down. RIP my friend. RIP.

RIP George. My little boy of 2 1/2 years. I miss you so much. My heart yearns to be holding you close to me. Nuzzeling your little furry nose.

the other many loves of my life that I was able to bless myself with that have passed for one reason or another, bless them, bless their spirits, bless their memories.

Muff

RIP Oreo. You were always there for my when I was sad and needed something to lift my spirits. You are still in my heart as I look at your picture on my bedside table. You were the best gerbil ever.

Superfang, I remember rescuing you from a workers truck. You were thin and part of your tale was chopped off and you had liver problems. You lived longer than you were supposed to- 5 years. But then the time came when you couldnt go any farther. You were a great Bearded Dragon, Superfang, and I miss you. RIP

This poem has been posted before. It really helped us when we lost some of our parrots and I know that it will help you. I believe that our pets have souls and that they will meet as when we get to our final resting place.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

R.I.P. Sunshine ~ The most beautiful Buff Orpington Hen in the world!
I got Sunshine with 50 other BO pullets from Privett Hatchery in NM. She would come running from the other side of the barnyard to jump in my lap, and I swear she would talk to me ... me and her would have private "Chicken Talks!"

Sadly I lost her to a Cat ... saddest day in my whole life!
Good Bye my dear chicken buddy!

Tamra, I'm so sorry for the loss of your beautiful boy. He looks like he was a very special guy.

I have a very special boy too. Four of them in fact. And there isn't enough money in the world to make me part with a single one of them.

Look back with fond memories always of the special boy you had. And I hope for you that someday, somehow, you find another very special roo to share your flock with. Roosters really are such amazing and magnificent creatures!

I've lost many pets in my near half century of life. It never gets any easier. They all have possessed a special chamber of my heart. Each of them has had their own special personality traits or quirks. My memories of them are all special and many. Someday, when all I can do is sit in my big chair, and rifle through the old memory files, it will be my memories of my pets that I will pull out the most often and cherish every last one.

YES! Animals have souls! They say that the eyes are the window to the soul. If you ever doubt whether an animal has a soul, you have but to look in their eyes. It's right there, up front and honest!

Rest in Peace, my beloved friends. Someday, I too shall come to the Rainbow Bridge. And when that day comes, we shall never again feel the sorrow of loosing each other.
In loving memory of:

Gimpy Girl [BO hen killed by a neighbors dog]
Lacey [GSL hen, also killed by a neighbors dog]
LizzyBeth [BR hen, killed by a hawk]
Molly [GSL hen, died by misadventure with a flower pot]
Mayvis [LB hen died by misadventure with a newt]
Mildred [BO hen just simply went to sleep one night and never woke up
hu.gif
]
Rachel [BR hen, killed by either hawk or dog. Not sure which. All we found was a pile of feathers. ]
Alice [GSL hen, died by misadventure with a feed bag string.]
Rita [GSL hen, passed away of old age two months ago]

Going back a few years now:
Babe, my mutt dog that I had for just shy of 21 years!
th.gif
She was my constant companion as a kid, and more than once kept me out of serious trouble in the forests surrounding my childhood home.

Sandy, our yellow lab, a.k.a. Big Dumb Brute, Sandman of Nisqually, Stupid, and LoverBoy. He was an incredible boy! Should have been a field trial champion if we had just had the time back then. He certainly had the smarts for it!
wink.png
He passed of old age at 13.5

Lou, our chocolate lab, big, dumb and lovable to everyone but me, but that doesn't change the fact that there are still days that I miss her. She died of old age/heart attack [we think] at the age of 12

BugBug the cat. Oh how I miss you Bug! 16 years wasn't nearly long enough!Sweet and quiet, never bothered anyone and was one of the best little mousers the world had ever seen! Sadly, she passed away of inoperable, untreatable cancer.

Humphrey Penelope, my #1 cat of all time. She was trouble with a capital T, and I loved every single moment of our lives together. She passed of old age at 18.

Worf, son of Humphrey Penelope, and just an all around neat guy. He passed of God only knows what. Probably a raccoon. He just didn't come home one night in the spring time. I had heard and seen the raccoons out and about that night, but never dreamed that Worf would let himself be cornered by one. He was too smart for that...or so I had thought. Maybe not? He was an absolute sweetheart though.

The list goes on and on folks. As I said, after nearly a half century, I'm sure there are friends that I have forgotten to include. Some I haven't forgotten, and there in lies the problem. Even years after their passing, it's still too painful to put down on paper so to speak.

Peace be to all of our feathered, furred, finned or scaled friends that have gone before us. May they all be waiting for each of us at the Rainbow Bridge!
