My kids have been able to get fillings with just topicals or even nothing. If you do need the needle just close your eyes. The sight of it and the anticipation is worse than the actual pain of the injection.

Injections in a muscle are much worse than in oral mucosa!​

I bit my orthodontist bad when I was younger and now have a permanent record on me! My dentist became sooooo careful after word got round that I was a biter!

When I bit I was 16 just out of reflex to having a brace snapped off, but I still get 'delicate respect' 7 years later! LOL
They even put me to sleep to give me two fillings and take two (very determined to stay) baby teeth out!

FWIW I love my dentist.
He's a Type 7 FFL with a class 2 SOT.
I get all firearms at cost + tax and NICS fee. This includes Barrett rifles. Darn I want a .50BMG.
All transfers NFA and otherwise are free except for the NICS check which isn't even required for NFA.
One day when I was in for a cleaning he brought in one of his full auto MP5s with a silencer and let me play around with it.
Best dentist ever.

Man, I wish I was in Phoenix, or Mahonri made house calls. I am a dentists nightmare right now. Havent been in about 6 years due to my hygenist leaving. I have a cracked tooth, gum disease, fillings that need to be replaced due to decay creeping under and various other issues. Im thinking about $5000 worth of work.

The needle in the mouth is not that bad. I was 8 when i had the first done and they put like oragel on first to numb it and i could hardly feel the needle. Just a light pressure for a few seconds. I have to go one monday for them to do a bunch of scraping of things off my teeth and im dreading that. I havnt been in 4 years and they already warned me it will hurt

And they cant really give me anything to help because of being pregnant.


Mahonri! Do you know of anything they are allowed to give to pregnant women to help with pain?
