Vitamins and Electrolytes???

I am on day 9 of my first hatch. One of my friends has said that when the chicks hatch, we have to give them vitamin and electrolytes in their water. I have not seen any mention of them on this website. Just wondering what people thought...are these really necessary?

I always give mine quik chik & gro gel from McMurray's, then switch them to ACV....
