Our Sussex are a bit TOO friendly. When I open their pen door 1 or 2 fly up at me, wanting to be held.

If someone came over and didn't understand what they wanted, they may become frightened.

Got three more tiny eggs today. I will save some for you so you can start with eggs when you finally can have chickies.

WELL.... If it wasn't missing both doors and windows he might be able to get it liveable in 24 hours. But it's SNOWING...grrrr...so he will probably make the doors this Saturday and finishing the OSB Board installation. Windows and hardware cloth over them on Sunday. Oh, and ventalation in the peak. After all that it's just inside stuff. The girls can live without the inside stuff for a few days, but without WINDOWS? I don't think so. Oh, and the doors being missing might be a real problem too.

ROFL!! Yes, that would be. Actually they are used to nothing but hardware cloth for windows. These girls had ZERO problems in the cold - they were even perkier than my LF chickens and no heat at all this winter. Amazing.

I was rather disappointed in the snow. I have chicks hatching and I wanted to stay HOME but nooooo, nature decided to make the snow into a dusting. bah.

But when you get home you'll have SURPRISES!! That's almost better than sitting there watching them hatch. All the fun, none of the stress.
