I voted for Barred Rock and Speckled Sussex, the latter of which I have. Speckled Sussex are beautiful and often have some iridescence to their feathers.
A breed I really like and would recommend that is not on your list is the Dominique, which has barred feathers (similar to a Barred Rock) and a nice rose comb. They are very fluffy (great lap-chickens), cold-hardy, and satisfying to hold. Mine (of course, I can only judge by my own experiences and birds), is the friendliest and most curious of my five-member flock. They also lay large eggs that look like the one you posted earlier in the thread. Here are a few pictures of my Dominique:

I don't know if this goes for Dominiques in general, or whether it varies between individuals, but my Dominique makes very distinctive high pitched noises.
