For the Silver Laced, how a bout Auntie Mame or Gypsie as they look like they are decked out in jewelry for the theater or to tell futures

I would also like you to consider any color Orpington, though Buffs are the most common. They are gentle, good, consistent layers, do well in most climates, get along well with almost anyone and (I think) quite beautiful. They lay quite large deep brown eggs of uniform size which all my egg customers rave about. Many of mine have laid double-yolkers!

I am not a huge fan of the buff color in most breeds (I do like it in silkies, though, they look like lions!) but I am considering a lavender orpington for some point in the future.

This is an interesting thread, black_cat! Choosing chickens is so fun!
I voted for Barred Rock and Speckled Sussex, the latter of which I have. Speckled Sussex are beautiful and often have some iridescence to their feathers.
A breed I really like and would recommend that is not on your list is the Dominique, which has barred feathers (similar to a Barred Rock) and a nice rose comb. They are very fluffy (great lap-chickens), cold-hardy, and satisfying to hold. Mine (of course, I can only judge by my own experiences and birds), is the friendliest and most curious of my five-member flock. They also lay large eggs that look like the one you posted earlier in the thread. Here are a few pictures of my Dominique:

After hearing about how Red Sex Links don't live long, I'm eliminating them from my consideration. Does anyone know about other breeds that lay a similar egg color?

I don't know if this goes for Dominiques in general, or whether it varies between individuals, but my Dominique makes very distinctive high pitched noises.

Your choice of a White Leghorn for egg production, is a good one. There's also the California White. Its similar to the Leghorn but a little bigger and is suppose to have egg more production than the Leghorn. I just received mine a month and half ago, so I wont know for sure until they start laying. I have 2 Red Sex Link hens and theyre big pretty hens, so I would vote for them. And the Golden and Silver Laced Wyandottes are both pretty birds, brown to light brown medium eggs, so my other vote would be for one of them.

So this might not actually end up happening, depending on what parents decide, but in one of my 2 possible plans, I am getting some chicks and I don't know what breeds I should get. One of them will be a white leghorn, but there are two more chick slots that need to be filled.
Options are:

-Delaware
-Speckled Sussex
-Olive Egger
-Silver Spangled Hamburg
-Golden Laced Wyandotte
-Silver Laced Wyandotte

This will be going into a flock of:

-Easter Egger
-Black Copper Marans
I enjoy having varied egg colors, so any egg color. I get hot summers and cold winters. I'm not looking for broody hens but don't mind breaking them, and for the parent's sake, high egg production would be great. These birds will have some free range time but not infinite time, so I'd need breeds that can adjust to being confined and I don't need any super good foragers. I'm mostly open on traits like egg color, foraging, and broodiness, as I don't mind variation.

For color variety, i would choose cream legbar and copper marans. My ccl gives me a pretty blue egg 6 out of 7 days and is the largest egg over my orps eggs! Wanting to add a 2nd ccl and a pair of marans to have a rainbow of colors!

Probably! I'm either only getting the first 5-7, or I'm getting all of them. I wouldn't be getting them all at once, but I'd get the first 5, then the next year get the next 4.
