I totally agree, but if you look around at a lot of birds people are raising they nowhere near look like the breed. An example would by the so-called Rhode Island Reds the hatcheries are selling. They are so light in color they are orange and sometimes a light brown. But nonetheless people are still calling them RIR's
I totally understand that is all in good fun. And I'm not trying to step on toes. But it's also important to consider that standards that define the breed. There are many people who take the hatchery's word or worse they take the feed store employee's word that "this bird is this breed" when actuality they are incorrect, misinformed, or just don't even know. Or they pull up a mislabeled picture off the internet and take it as fact.
