Well, it looks like I'm in........

I actually picked out my fabric last night as I was sorting thru it. This will keep me out of trouble for awhile.

So no turning under seam allowances, no blind stitching required? Applique is the stuff of nightmares to me, but my mom and my in-laws are all talented quilters and they do everything just...perfectly. I would love to participate, though. Maybe I'll mock one up tonight or tomorrow and share a pic just to see if it's up to snuff for the rest of you.

When I got home from work that is what I was thinking about doing before agreeing, doing one to see if I could and it was any good.

@ Chickpeaz Nope, no turning under of edges, just sew over them with your machine. Zigzag or if you have something fancier will cover any frayed edges. I don't even use any Heat bond or any thing on mine either. I just use a kids Glue Stick. With a glue stick, if you don't like where you placed it, You can pick it up and move it for about 3 or 4 hours before it really dries. If you want to move it after it dries, just wet it and it comes out. Doesn't leave you with that stiffness of Heat Bond/WonderUnder.

Come on Chickpeaz and GreenFam! You can do this! We are all different level of quilters. I can't do "piecework" to save my life. None of it ever comes out looking the same. Paper piecing not happening. (you know someone is going to come up with one of those swaps and is not going to let me skip out of it

That is so funny -- I am a piecing whiz! I love to do it. I've even done some teensy weensy postage stamp and mini quilts. But applique and hand-quilting -- really any kind of hand-sewing -- ugh. I guess that's why there are so many different ways to do things, since everyone's good at different things!

Knowing I can do this on the machine gives me a little more confidence...now to see if I have the time!
