Wacko Geko Quilt Block Swap-SIGN-UP CLOSED

I got all those pesky geckos cut out! It looks like I have a pest infestation when they are all laid out on the table!

Yes you can! I was holding out to see if there were some stragglers. You've got good reason to straggle! Are troups moving in and out constantly as part of the relief effort? Did you see the story about the dog that was found floating on the debris?!!

Sweet!!!!

Yes, there are lots of Marines, Sailors, Airmen, and Soldiers from here helping in Operation Tomodachi. We have been preparing in the event that we get evacuees here. I think I did catch a snippet about that dog. What a miracle!

Look what I got done!!!

Honestly, it was a challenge to do the gecko's toes, but I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Thanks! The blue/purple is a good bit brighter than the picture shows. I got 5 geckos out of a fat quarter. I only had one fat quarter like this, so the rest of my blocks will be different. I am loving this swap!

I like that block. I have two done. Will have to take a picture to post.

Sorry that I have not been posting very often here.

I have gotten some batik fabrics for the geckos in shades of purples and oranges. I'm undecided on the color of the background quite yet - not sure if I'll go with a more neutral beige/off-white or a more yellow color. I'm afraid the oranges will not pop as well on the light yellow background color.

I'm thinking these tie-dye type colors will "blend" well with other colors.

I think a really pale yellow would work with the orange. You could also stitch in in a bright orange too to make it jump off the background.
