waited all day need help now water running right through roo help

When chickens don't eat anything they always have white/clear/greenish liquid for poop! Try giving him something sweet in his water. When I have a bird who won't eat I usually put a bit of berries or all natural juice in the water. If I use berries I smash it and let it sit until the water turns colored. I also add organic apple cider vinegar to the water and grape fruit seed extract. If you don't have any fruit or juice you can add honey. The sugar will hopefully perk him up a little! Then try offering some exciting foods like more fruit and scrambled eggs or cooked oatmeal...

If he won't drink the mixture take a syringe and dribble it on his beak. Be careful not to squirt it down the throat because it can cause the chicken to aspirate and choke!

I wouldn't worry about him drinking too much and that coming right back out as diarrhea, it's probably important that he keeps drinking and stays hydrated.

Scrambled eggs mixed with oatmeal work well. And they love it usually

Good luck!

i will try some eggs and oatmeal in the morning , he has been drinking fine all day just wont eat. I noticed he was dry around his vent area since I restricted his water to once an hour. I am going to bed will report on progress tomorrow. any more advise?

I looked all over the web, and can't find anything about your poor chicken. The only thing I can think of is some kind of kidney malfunction. I would give him electrolytes, and feed him whatever he'll eat just to keep his weight on. If it was my chicken, my last ditch effort would be to treat for coccidiosis. I know some people would disagree with me, but there are a few different kinds of coccidiosis including a kidney one. Only one of them produces bloody stool.

thanks, for all your time in looking for an answer. he is a beautiful sweet roo and would hate to lose him these are my first chickens I have 3 hens. I started treament of wazine 17 last night they have not been wormed yet he is 8 months old and the hens are a year old. he seems perky today just gave him some egg and oatmeal he ate some he is real picky eater just really only like the feed my girls eat everything! he did not crow again this morning thank goodness he is in the house and that would be a different alarm clock to wake up too! but if he would crow I would know he was feeling better. well I will see how today goes and take it from there I will read up on those things you mentioned and see what I think I should do next.

update he is still not eating he ate a couple pecks of eggs & oatmeal and of some feed but thats it still is drinking see how he is in the morning. gave him yogurt didnt eat it dont know what else to try

I you have access to parrot baby feeding formula, try that. It is loaded with lots of good stuff and easy to put in a syringe and squirt in his beak. Since it is mixed with water you won't have to worry about him drinking a lot. Open his beak and slowly squirt some in( keeping the mix thick not watery). you can also try smearing some canned mushy dog food in his mouth......

well thanks for the help but he died durning the night. now I am left worring about my hens is was this something they can catch. I guess I will have to wait and see
