Walk through GATE spraying my watchDog with pepper spray

We just send our current meter reading in everytime we pay the bill. The company has never come out, to my knowledge, to double check it. It seems to work for our company.

The water company comes out twice a year and forwards a letter letting people know what day they will be checking the meter. I don't understand why it's so hard for them to come to some understanding about not spraying this poor dog with pepper spray every month.

I think there may be some serious repercussions down the road from this action. The dog might see some kid playing with their tube sized push up pop and attack because he is scared out of his mind.........

Bedste, I would definately recommend that you call the utility company over and over again until you get a reasonable answer to this.

POLICY SCHMILOCY ....

I'd pepper spray any intruder on my property.

If you are nice - and they wen't - you could post a new sign that says
something about your policy to do so.

I have a heater repair guy that refuses to come to my house ever again because this tiny thing:

walked up to him & pecked his shoe. The man freaked out & ran back to his van, rolled up the window & locked the door. (!)
They sent another guy who also got a shoe peck. He scooped up my roo, tickled his wattles and handed him to me when I answered the door. Maybe your meter guy has deep-seated fears.......

I worked with a female firemen who refused to get out of the truck till we went in first an did not get bit. 13 years an not one dog bit me. Now my medic friend, he got bit all the time an he was never first in?

I would drive up, honk, call my customers cell # or they were OUT OF LUCK.

Sounds reasonable to me!

I was a delivery driver for 10 years off and on. It usually took a few seconds to call, honk, or knock first. This meter reader just sounds like a tool.

One of my paramedic friends ran straight up the side of a 50' ditch whilst extracting a patient because someone said to watch for the snake. This is a grown man we're talking about here!

No, he didn't leave the patient alone, there were plenty of other rescue personnel down there...

Sorry, back to the regularly scheduled debate...

years ago our meeter reader threatened our dog, he hated men with beards because he had previously been abused. And my dad told him he was on our property and he had no right to threaten our dog. After that the guy pulled up and read it with binoculars from his truck. If you have beware of dog signs up and you notify them that you have a guard dog and they need to at least honk the horn to let you know, I would think they should have to comply after all its your property. Do you have a locking gate? If you did they would have to contact you to get in.
