Walk through GATE spraying my watchDog with pepper spray

call and ask to have a digital meter installed and tell them why. i had my old dial one replaced with one last year. now they don't even come to my house.

Know what i'd do?
I'd call the company and say that i think their meter reader is abusing my dog...for NO reason.
And that you wont press charges this time but that they NEED to let you know WHEN they are coming so you can put the dog up to avoid any future problems...(i dont think thats too much to ask)
if they wont agree then take it to the next level...

Ok, so I spoke to DF, and he says...
"The utility company has the right to get to their property (the meter) and it is stated in the service agreement"

Just sayin'....

Oh, boy, as a trainer , mace can cause more aggression. It can also harm the animal's eyes

I doubt they are going to call ahead of time, catch 22,

Heck, I'd lock and electrify the gate too - (with a proper warning sign of course). Here if you lock your fence/gate they will have you call in your meter reading. OR you can get them to install a newer model that can be read remotely. You might have to pay for it, or....uh, something could just go wrong with the old unit

MIL read them her meter over the phone because they kept the fence locked because of her pool. One time she either read it wrong or the meter went backwards (has been known to happen) so they came out and installed one that they can read remotely by computer. Problem solved.

We can do it in Mo, too, in the really remote areas.

Ok, I have a friend who shot their 'lectric meter with a shotgun. Blew a hole in the wall WHILE on the phone with them arguing about the bill.....He said it was totally worth having to repair his wall.
Word gets around....he asked the gas company if they wanted theirs to be next

There is no choice here. They can come any time, day or night. Especially since there's a pole in our yard (barely, I'm giving serious consideration to putting up a new fence on that one side and 'oops' doing it so the pole ends up in the neighbor's yard) they can do any dang thing they want. I cannot stop them from entering my yard or I am breaking the law. Let my dogs out, break my fence, etc... nothing I can do.

That is one really annoying thing about Texas.

Oh, and the cable companies try and use that law too... saying they've the right to access the pole through my yard... THOSE I do send away. Cable is not your power. It's not keeping your food edible or your house warm/cool. The cable guy can go through the yard of the one complaining TYVM. You can access the stupid pole just as easily (easier actually since the thing is blocked by a shed on our side) from our neighbor's yard.

Too funny!

We read out own meter, they'd eventually find out if we cheated. We've been here two years and they've never been out to read it themselves, but I'm sure they would if they thought something funny was going on.
