Walmart prices higher than others

Yeah, we've noticed prices rising at Walmart, and they wouldn't price match on a few items for us before. They don't do any special coupon deals, just some manufactures coupons. Won't take printed coupons from my computer either. I just go back to our local stores after I do my sunday clippings....

AND I've never bothered buying meat or deli stuff from walmart... its bad product and not worth what they price it at. I like my cuts fresh so I goto Lowe's foods.

I don't think it's just your area. A couple years ago, Walmart had that ad on TV that the average family could save $2000.00 a year shopping at Walmart. At that time.....yes! You could! And I shopped there every week even though I had to drive 30 minutes to get there, I still saved a ton of money.

But now they have an ad that states you can save about $800.00 a year.

Yeah, right! They have their prices set at the same as my local grocery. I don't save money at all any more. My grocer did not go up THAT much, but Walmart did.

I'm from Wisconsin and noticed 3-4 years ago already.

You're right. They match ADS. But you have to have fliers and go to costumer service. But most places match ads. And also most places don't advertise most stuff on sale. Like, Walmart and their groceries. Perfect example.

I don't know how that Wal-Mart runs things, but at this one, you bring the ad to any register. As long as the products match (name, size, etc.) you'll get it for that price.

We go there for their recycled trashbags (cheap, stong, recycled... LOVE them!), cereal in the big arse bags (chepest I have found that taste like the original), my Hunters Seriously Sharp Cheese by Cabot in the huge block. Otherwise... we usually shop at the regular stores. I am trying out a new one soon. Have to bring your own bags. It is alled Auldi I think.

I have lists for 4 different stores since prices are getting out of hand on most thing now.

-Dog food, cat food and cat litter are from TS
-paper goods, soap, shampoo, potatoes, bread, day old deli bread, some boxed goods, and shredded cheese are from Wal-Mart and not the one closest to me either, they are consistently 20% higher in price than the one 80 mile round trip from me
-canned goods, produce, other cheeses, dairy, beans, rice, etc are from HEB and not the closet one either (80 mile round trip) I drive 120 mile round trip to the one that has bulk items and darn good prices
-meats are from the sales and reduced bin at the local Super S

By driving 30 miles north to deposit pay check (yeah I live in the middle of nowhere), hitting up the TS there, driving back to the house, dropping off the feed and then driving 60 miles south to get groceries and hitting Walmart on the way back I save, with coupons and gas accounted for, around $100 a month in groceries/feed/necessities. It's nearly 200 miles, 3/4 tank of gas and an all afternoon thing BUT it's worth it.
