Want the Americauna eggs? **WINNER ON PAGE 4**

I love to fix my kids "green eggs & ham". I always lay the shells out and tint their eggs. They first thought the green & bluish eggs really had green in them

. Unfortunately we lost 90% of our flock to a fat hawk last year

. Things are much more secure now, after months and months of working here and there. We have 2 runs complete and I'm working on 2 tractors for my babies now.

I love hatching eggs, I love watching baby chicks grow and I definitely love chipmunk looking chicks

Thanks for being so generous!

First, I want to say that I think that it is absolutely wonderful of you to offer these eggs up to someone else, and I hope that in the future you are repaid for this kind act. There are so many of us that love those little fuzzy butts.

Life has not been very kind to us this past year and money is tight. Our chickens and animals have been a constant comfort for us, and get plenty of love. I have four kids, and I took my birthday money to purchase a used incubator and five dozen cochin and silkie eggs to hatch. This was our first hatch, and I felt that we did everything right, good humidity, good temps, turned on time. Out of the eggs only eleven hatched, and one died. My kids were disappointed, and it was sad to see them run to the bator with a flashlight trying to look for pipping. Even this morning, my son woke up "mommy did any more hatch?" I think that the eggs might have been old, I didn't get them from anyone here. I would love to do another run of eggs in the incubator for my kids and these eggs would be perfect. We have one Aracauna hen and the kids get so excited when they find a green egg in the nest. They are the ones who collect the eggs, and they call it "going on an egg hunt". I know the thought of finding blue, green, and pink eggs would send them over the top.

So basically my reason for wanting the eggs is that I want to make my kids happy and help to ease the dissapointment of a bad hatch.

Thanks again for reoffering these. It's very sweet of you!

Unfortunately, my reason for wanting the eggs is due to a predator attack a month ago.

Of course, the ones that were killed (a dozen total!

) were our favorites - Millies, blue Cochin, Barred Rock, Delawares, Cuckoo Marans, SLW, and yes, our Easter Eggers that laid the prettiest mint green colored eggs. My 8 yr old daughter has been missing our Easter Egger hens named Hope & Faith ever since. They were so pretty and sweet natured. Mean neighbors dog was the culprit.

I'd greatly appreciate being considered, but if I don't win the eggs, I nominate lickskillet since I can wholeheartedly commiserate. Thank you for such a wonderful showing of kindness on your part!

First off CONGRATS

for winning the Name the puppy contest!!! That is a beautiful name and the picture of your boy Denali was nice too! I think it made it even a more special name when they can put a name to your babies face.

Why I would like to have the eggs,

I have a friend of 20

years that had been diagnosed with breast cancer about 2 years ago (she's doing great by the way). While she was going through all that she did, I took care of all of her critters.
At the time she had about four old Bearded Americauna girls. They no longer lay eggs. She has been slowly loosing them, I think she is down to only two Bearded/Americauna hens now. I gave her 3 of my Cochin hens but she really loves her Bearded Americaunas. So what I would love to do is hatch the eggs and surprise her with new young hens. So even if only one or two of eggs hatched that would be fine. Plus I really love to hatch eggs

Good luck everyone!!!! Thanks again for passing along the eggs!!

Id love to have them, i dont have a bator yet but that would give me an excuse to go ahead and buy one(I want one really bad) but I nominate lickskillet and talani. They have been through some rough stuff

I would love to have these eggs.. I love Americauna chickens.. They are my favorite breed because of their blue/green eggs.. My aunt used to have EEs.. Until I joined BYC, I thought they were americaunas. And they would let my kids hand feed them.. They were rather friendly.. And these birds are in my favorite colors.. Wow it would be nice to be able to get the breed I want and the color I want at the same time.. I have never hatched chicken eggs yet.. But I have hatched out button quail.. Time to move up in the world..

I thank you very much for offering these eggs to some one else, and passing up these great looking birds.. These would be a great addition to any ones flock. Or if they are starting their flock.. Good luck every one..

Edited to add.. I would also replace my aunts beloved EEs, but with the real americaunas this time. (My aunt bought her EEs from a feed store as americaunas..)
