I know this is off topic, but it will help me and clear up the questions every is asking....PLEASE explain the difference for me between Americaunas, Aracunas and EEs!!! People asked if these are EEs and a friend of mine told me today that EEs ARE Americaunas, but I have seen threads here where it's been said that EEs are NOT Americaunas and I am totally confused. That's why I have ducks and geese....but I did have a hard time understanding toulouse vs. dewlap toulouse, but I have that down now....LOL.

Hope you are enjoying the thread for your eggs!!!

Hello, I would love to win the eggs! I am having my aid type this due to me having Multiple Sclerosis. I have lost the use of my legs and arms so I am unable to type. I live in the country and my husband who takes very good care of me with the help of my wonderful aide during the day while he works. He has been wanting to get a few chickens for around the farm. We dont have any animals besides our dog Nikko. We have an incubator but had no idea where to get eggs from until I came across this site.
Please consider me for the eggs. My grandchildren come to see me every weekend and I would love to be able to give them a reason to be excited about coming over here, they are a little intiminated by me being in a wheelchair, so giving them something to help me with and raise I think would be great.
Thank you

How nice of you!!
I would love the eggs because out of 42 different eggs I put in the bater, only 11 are viable on day 17

including the (only) two Americaunas.

I would love to have the eggs because I suggested the name Denail in that contest, I just didn't notice you already had

Oh I am! I love this site. Honestly I do not know what the difference is. I am just starting out myself and got americauna eggs for my incubator from a breeder near me. I will try to contact her to find out. She keeps all her breeds separated so I know they are not mixed with anything. The only ones I have right now myself are the welsummers, orphingtons and silkies. Oh and a pair of golden seabrights but they are babies. I have started getting 2 welsummers eggs a day and 1 silkie egg. Its a start.

I think they started a sticky thread in the breeds and genetics category explaining the differences between EE's, Ameraucanas, and Araucanas.

My grandson and I have started hatching eggs as a home school project for him and I was recently declared disabled and fooling with the eggs and bators keeps me from being so depressed. We would really appreciate the eggs.

Well, I had my friend begin reading the responses at 8PM and when she declared the winner, I ran it by my husband and he agreed. It will, however, be beneficial for me to explain what is behind the decision.

Abbie is the winner.

In 2000, I had to begin setting aside my career because I had been caring for my mother (Alzheimer's Disease) since 1998, but I was asked to take over the care of my older sister, too. My sister has multiple sclerosis and trigeminal neuralgia. My sister and I have had a very bad relationship because she was emotionally abusive to me throughout my life. None of my friends, including my husband, have liked her very much because she has never been the least bit supportive of me and even though I had to make huge changes in my life to care for both my mother and sister, she has been MUCH LESS than appreciative. It's a long story, but that's the idea of it.

For almost TEN YEARS, I have tried to convince me sister to do SOMETHING for herself....she refuses to do anything the doctors recommend. She takes too many medications and she sits in front of the TV 24 hours a day. She is NOT in a wheelchair and there is so much she could do to improve her life and no matter what I have tried, she refuses and prefers for people to feel sorry for her.

My friend read Abbie's story and immediately thought of the relationship between my sister and me and felt that it would be a wonderful symbolic gesture to offer this teeny, tiny offering to someone in my sister's situation who has embraced life and continues to fight. She knew it would mean a great deal to me.

My heart goes out to Lickskillet and if you want some duck eggs (the only eggs I have) I would be HAPPY to send you some runners, but, I can understand how much the chickens and the colorful eggs could do to bridge the relationship between Abbie and her grandchildren. So, I totally agree with my friend and husband that this is the right decision for the situation.

So, I am going to tell badnfluinz to contact abbie about shipping the Americauna eggs to her. If Lickskillet would like some duck eggs, let me know and I'll be happy to send some. Wish I had chicken eggs to send.

I wish I had eggs to send so many of you!!!! Bless you all!!!

Nancy
