Wanted to share our Indian Runner drake's photos

You restore my faith in people. So often in many species, it's all about making money. Or the thought that animals are disposable. I commend you for doing things in such a responsible, caring way!!!!!!!!

I have two runners that I love. Mine were rescues from a shelter, so hatchery quality, but still love them a lot. Boy, what I would give to have a few that look like yours though.

Thanks very much for your kind words! We are thrilled to have them all. Some people don't understand the beauty in our ducks and why we are raising them ethically and not for financial gain.

I realize there are practical considerations, but my feeling right now is to ask you to adopt me and my pet-quality Runners! Very glad you do what you do. We plan to adopt more female Runners next year (you heard it first on this thread, friends!). But we are very limited with space, so it will be just a few. And that's why just females - not enough room to manage more than one drake right now. One drake who upsets the Runners because he has the hots for Romy who kind of likes him, but her girlfriends think he is no good for her.

I don't know how long it will take, veronicasmom, I am going to first seek to adopt rescues, but at some point if there are none, first I will be happy about that, and then I will look for ducklings.

Oh, I just melted when I saw them yesterday, and yes, then I read "bachelor flock." If we had space for a boys' club, don't you know I would be taking them in?!

I hope someone will fall in love with them, I always feel so bad for drakes seems no one wants them. I love my drakes. Even when they are at their worst.

I will need to do quite a bit of infrastructure work if we are going to have more than a few more ducks - We are on 0.8 acres in ruburbia (suburbs that are on the rural side of the spectrum). While the town has a right to farm ordinance, neighbors can still sometimes be a pain. And their dogs sometimes get loose…..
