this is what my DH & I did last year for family...it cost maybe $5-$6 a piece. You buy those glass blocks from Home Depot (ones used for building things like windows or showers)...they cost around $4 a piece. Then a cheap string of christmas lights...I used white but you can do colored too (0urs had 10 bulbs per strand) and were maybe $1 a piece, then various ribbon. You drill a hole thru the glass then stuff the lights into the block and hot glue ribbon around it to look like a present...some of them I put marbles in to add color & texture...you can be pretty creative and they make a really pretty decoration. I will be making them again this year for my children's teachers.
