Warning about Eating Food from the Fridge and Advice Needed

Oooooo sorry! We have had a lot of people in the ER with stomach problems this week.

One guy with diarrhea for 2 WEEKS!!! More than 15 times in the bathroom A DAY. He finally came in, because he started to have some other icky symptoms

The human body can't handle that kind of abuse!

Maybe this will help? http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-diarrhea

Three days?

Seriously?

Don't eat at my house.

This spring I cleaned the fridge and found a butter container of something labeled 1995, not sure what it was. Not that I ate it. But we do have some pretty old edible things in there.

We still have stuff in our freezer from the 90's that we snack on, I don't know what all the hubub is about.

I was always told "When in doubt , Throw it out " and we used to have refrigerator special on friday and nothing went back in the fridge.

I am so sorry you are sick , keep drinking fluids is the only thing I know to tell you . I am sending healing thoughts and energy your way .

Go invest in a Sharpie. When you wrap leftovers, write down the date on the foil/wrap. On the third day, toss. Do this every time, and you won't have a repeat experience.

I was a cook/ dietary manager at a nursing home, so I know food safety.

Would you believe I had forgotten about it completely until I woke up and had to run to the bathroom? I can usually eat things that have been in the fridge for 5 days or more, and this looked REALLY good and tasted pretty good too.

I thought putting it in the microwave for 5 minutes would kill anything bad.

College student just got schooled.

saddina, is 3 days the general rule? (Why is this not common knowledge! It should be innate by now or something!)

I know from experience that old, spoiled spaghetti sauce will have a sour smell and taste. Always check for a sour smell before eating any.

I throw away meat after 3 days. Always. If in doubt I feed it to the dogs. They like old food, lol.

I think some other things are good for about 4 days...cheese pizza, home made mac and cheese, plain rice or noodles, and things of that nature.

If you aren't better soon you might need to go to the hospital--food poisoning is something people are commonly hospitalized for because it can make you extremely ill. It sounds like you're drinking, which is what's important. If you start to feel dizzy, weak, faint, or anything like that I would get someone to take you to the ER for fluids.

For real? WOW!

Oh course! I'm not quite dead anyway.

Actually, my dad grew up really poor, they ate what they could. So even if something goes moldy he still eats it, talk about creepy.
