(WARNING: nasty photo of injury) What got her and is there any hope for recovery?

Here is our girl on Saturday, March 21. Husband cared for her alone for 9 days while I was gone on a business trip. After I took these photos tonight, I trimmed back her feathers to get them off the wound. I also managed to remove a few bottom sections of this flap of dead skin that is along the right side of her wound. What do you guys think should be the next step? Or should we continue washing it, creaming it, and covering it? When will it heal enough to use the artificial skin medicine? Her stools are getting better, but there are loose ones often, even though she has been off the antibiotic for about 15 days. If the weather cooperates tomorrow, we will let her have some outdoor time in the mobile chicken cube. That will be her first time outside since her attack, and the pen will ensure that the other hen can't touch her. What do you guys think about her wound please? Thank you so much for your kind and supportive help!!!

I would only cream any open of soft skin. It's gonna scab and as it does and gets flaky Id slowly peel it off just try not to reopen any of it. I doubt she'll grow feathers there again and you may not need the new skin stuff. That pink skin that's solid under where you peeled is what you'll want as a end result. I think it looks wonderful. The orange dried skin Id remove. The purple part Id leave till it scabs up more. Since it's the deep part. Now that it's scabbed over it can heal from the inside out and it will. It may eventualy rupture IF it's a blood blister but dot worry. It looks amazing! She's come so far

Here is our girl on Friday, March 27, 2015. The dead skin that was covering the wound has fallen off. It still gets washed and creamed daily. Feathers are growing over the wound so we'll trim those back again this weekend. I don't think there is skin over the wound yet, and don't know what we can do about that. Do you guys think we should use the medicine that is like artificial skin (can't recall the name of it off the top of my head) or should we wait a little longer? What are your expert opinions on this please? Thank you so much for your kind guidance, support, and encouragement!

Wow! Awesome she looks so great! Good job. And I agree based on what it look like I don think it'll grow feathers
