2 days after we introduced our chickens to their chicken run a raven(yes a raven, not a crow) attacked three of our chickens. The beaks of three chicken were bleeding. Has anybody else had this experience? I would have never thought a raven would be a problem. Now we have had to install netting over the entire run. So beware of ravens. Fortunately it happened when we were home and witnessed it with our own eyes or we would have never believed it.

I was at the zoo this weekend and the raven there was happily munching on a chicken foot. So I'm guessing chicken is a reasonable prey for ravens.

Sorry your chickens got hurt, but thank goodness you were home.
