Howdy folks. The little feller on top of the box in the bottom right hand corner was sold to me as a RIR rooster. Please let me know if that's right. Also, I'm curious at his age, and when/ how I can get him bigger. His legs and feet look like they're destined to belong to a bigger rooster even than my big BR there. We're thinking he's still in his cockeral stage (I'm far from an age expert). Thanks for any words of wisdom.

awesome, thanks! any idea when he'll begin to fill out? Also, when should he be fertile? I have several hens I'd like to put him with, but he seems to be extremely passive with hens or roosters. Thanks again.

I don't count on any of my birds breeding dependably until they are at least 8 moths old. Usually I put a March hatched bird in the breeding pen mid January at the earliest, (about 10 months old) but that's just me.

With that being said....
I've had fertile eggs in the grow out pen at 5 months when the hens started laying.

He should start filling out soon and getting randy soon after.
