Washington Feather Fanciers Show Chehalis, WA Nov 17-18 Also birds that are being brought for sale

*IF* I can get things changed around and straightened up by then, I'll be looking for some specific chickens- if I could travel back in time I'd get the Porcelein OEGB hens that were for sale last year, but time travel and teleportation are both unfulfilled promises of the 21st century

hallerlake has offered me a ride.

If I show a bird, I will be picking you up early, but you can try and sleep in the car.

I am going to come to the show and get some sale cages.. Ive got a few call ducks to sell.... (HINT HINT HINT) I realy wanted to show some of my call ducks, but I was told that it would be a waste of entry money due to the fact that there wings are clipped.... It sucks, cuz if I DONT clip there wings, I wont have any ducks...LOL.

Im also going to be looking for call ducks to purchase also... Im needing a nice quality butterscotch drake and I like the magpie/anacona type calls...

I wish I could find an article I read once about clipped wings on call ducks...It might have been a specific show that allowed it...darn it..
In my 1938 edition of the SOP it says under "General Disqualifications" that "A wing showing slipped flight or secondaries, or both, except clipped flights in Canada or Egyptian geese, Muscovy, Call, and East India Ducks.". So unless that has changed, I think you would be fine. I however don't show Calls so hopefully someone else who does will chime in

In the current edition 2010, it says:

DISQUALIFICATIONS

Wings:

(c) All Breeds Waterfowl, except Canada and Egyptian Geese; and Muscovy, East Indie, Call and Mallard Ducks

1. Primary or secondary feathers clipped.

Note--Pinioned wings if smoothly healed are acceptable.

I believe the exception if you read it correctly is for the Canadians and Egyptians. Muscovys, etc are listed in addition to all waterfowl for some reason.
