:lau Yup(pies)! I read this as embellished satire. Chickens are definitely "in" around "the valley." I've seen the tour-de-coop on Craigslist. And people are welcome to quote whatever crazy fantasy price they want. I think we can all even laugh ourselves silly (and keep it to ourselves) on these forums with differences in urban versus rural expectations. "Elite" hobby.:rolleyes: Clearly I'm behind the curve on how much stress & money I'm spending on this, as perceived by my favorite elite news organization.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
 
Interesting articles, both of them. Crazed rich folks, and irresponsible others. Not different from other critters kept by humans. Responsible folks learn about the needs of the animals they want before bringing them home; other people dump the current dog, cat, or whatever, and get another.
