Me too! Nobody's perfect here and we're all very forgiving. ChickAudie we appreciate the apology and you're welcome here!
I am the only jerk allowed on this forum.
The rest of you are required to be nice at all times.
Sounds like you are doing everything well.Checked on the happy family today and they're all doing fine. A few of the chicks were out from under mama eating in the 35 degree weather this morning when I went out there. So cute!
Question about mama raised chicks vs. brooder chicks: won't the mama raised chicks grow slower because they aren't coming out to eat near as much as the brooder chicks do in a super warm brooder?
I updated my profile pic, to reflect my bad behavior!
This is why I'm contemplating getting those other 4 chicks on Friday. Well...I'm getting them regardless since no one definitively claimed them; 2/4 will be given to Farminmama though. The 2 I bring home will also be given to Lucy to see if she'll take them since I'm expecting some losses. We just had an eagle attack on Wednesday!2011 I had brooder and hen raised chicks. I didn't see any difference in size, although the mama raised cockerels seemed to get into the "teen" stuff a little bit sooner! Sadly, I can't have hen raised babies anymore, due to the hawks and eagles hauling them off.
