Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I am the only jerk allowed on this forum.

The rest of you are required to be nice at all times.

That's how it is here at my home. I can yell and be in a bad mood anytime I want, everyone else HAS to be nice or be quiet.

Checked on the happy family today and they're all doing fine. A few of the chicks were out from under mama eating in the 35 degree weather this morning when I went out there. So cute!

Question about mama raised chicks vs. brooder chicks: won't the mama raised chicks grow slower because they aren't coming out to eat near as much as the brooder chicks do in a super warm brooder?
Sounds like you are doing everything well.

2011 I had brooder and hen raised chicks. I didn't see any difference in size, although the mama raised cockerels seemed to get into the "teen" stuff a little bit sooner! Sadly, I can't have hen raised babies anymore, due to the hawks and eagles hauling them off.

This is why I'm contemplating getting those other 4 chicks on Friday. Well...I'm getting them regardless since no one definitively claimed them; 2/4 will be given to Farminmama though. The 2 I bring home will also be given to Lucy to see if she'll take them since I'm expecting some losses. We just had an eagle attack on Wednesday!

OK, since you all are entirely too forgiving and super nice, and if I have a unanimous vote to stay, I will stay

Eventhough I know I am less than deserving of your friendships.

TacomaFarms and I are getting together this Saturday at the (tentatively) Goofy Goose around 2:30pm ish. Sweetlilbaby, did you still want to come? I can give you a ride. I will be bringing my middle two boys (3 & 5) or possibly my entire family is DH is up for it (he loves Goofy Goose, so if he doesn't come, I know I will be bringing home lunch!). Any other South-Siders are more than welcome!

This was the third time I did it today. It looked so much more hexagon honeycomb the first time. I think I had to much honey this time. Finding a spot I could get a picture of it was a pain. Was to bright outside. Swirl lots. I was splashing water out a couple times. I should have used a deeper bow. It took a little bit to get the good lines. It probably would have gotten better if I did it longer. Started out looking sort of like waves then they split off lines and join. It was cool to watch. Keep doing it and the larger cells become smaller.
