Dang dang dang! Our original flight out of NYC this morning was delayed for so long they had to reroute us. Been sitting here WAY to long! Now our second flight is .......... DELAYED! DANG DANG DANG! I really hope the next leg goes more smoothly.

FYI- Iron Horse Hay and Feed in Maple Valley got chicks in earlier than expected- they put this on their Facebook Page:

Their chick prices are $2.99 each, but they offer "buy 5, get one free", so $2.49 each if you buy in 6's.

They have 100 more chicks coming on Friday.

Just a quick update on my DH since so many of you sent him well wishes when he hurt his back. After an MRI and x-rays, he has 2 ruptured disks. Despite that, he still had to travel for work this week and is in Fargo. Next week he starts PT and he will have an Epidural Steroid Injection on Wednesday.

Tamara, those steroid injection can work fabulously, or not at all. Hope it works for him. I had one a couple of months ago (my fourth, and this time it didn't work, so having surgery in 2 weeks). Keeping my fingers crossed for him.

I still have a luminary here for you that I forgot to give you a year ago! That was a fun lunch - we need to do it again; hopefully when the weather gets better and we get DST.

Assuming I don't have the flu, I am going to Wilco tomorrow as I desperately need chick feed. Since they are offering 5 free chicks with the purchase of a bag of feed, and that's what I'm going there to buy, does anyone want some chicks? Otherwise I'm getting CornishX chicks for chicken dinner.

I moved the last 3 chicks into the brooder with the rest. And they all seem to be doing fine. My thermometer on the other hand is giving me hell! It'll go from 85-103 back to 85, but nothing has changed, the chicks don't appear cold or warm, just fluffy & happy. Doggone technology! I swear if I have to by another MIC thermometer I'm gonna flip out!
