Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

this is what many call the "mini aussie"  isn't it?    Anyway the male aussie they said is the dad must have been 23 inches at the shoulder at least.

No, that is a different breed, and more rare.... Here is a mini Aussie breeder

There are several colors the Aussies come in that the American shepherds don't, like red tri.... Anyway, if your daddy dog is a standard.... Don't worry about it :-D

Got the run fenced and covered with bird netting, so they are safe from hawks now. The Silkies had no issues in with the layers today. Gonna wait til Monday before I let Pig Pen back with them. Just need to finish putting the 3/4 square netting along the bottom 20" of the fencing to keep prying paws out. Hardware cloth still needs to go on the vent areas of the coop. But those can be done over the next several days.

"Green eggs and ham," said Dr.Seuss and I thought ah, it's something to amuse the kids. That was before I tried to hard boil eggs and consistently got green yolks -

not very appeitizing but the dogs gobbled 'em up. I had that "aha moment," when I realized Dr.Seuss wasn't making it up. Gee I could have created 'magic' for my son on purpose.

if ya break open the yoke it's yellow inside. I've had eggs like that before that have a green lining around the outter part of the yoke. It always happened as a kid after my dad would mow the lawn and give the chickens the grass clippings. That whole you are what you eat is so true LOL.

Whoot, I now have 5 raised garden boxes made. I will position them tomorrow on the south side of the house and determine if I need a few more. I'm sure I will.
What a beautiful day it turned out to be here in Rock-chester where the best crop every year is rocks and stones.

I set all the eggs I got from CowGirlGrace on Monday. It feels like it's been a lot longer. I can't believe it's even too soon to candle them to check and see what's developing. 3 weeks seems much too long to wait. I have to say this here because I don't think my non-chicken friends would understand.
I want chicks for my broody girls to raise and for me to cuddle now.
