I set all the eggs I got from CowGirlGrace on Monday. It feels like it's been a lot longer. I can't believe it's even too soon to candle them to check and see what's developing. 3 weeks seems much too long to wait. I have to say this here because I don't think my non-chicken friends would understand.
I want chicks for my broody girls to raise and for me to cuddle now.

Okay. Pouting over. Back to our regularly scheduled programming...

::::sigh::::
I just put 5 silkie eggs under my broody today. Due to hatch Easter! I am better when they are under a broody than in the incubator. I keep looking at them when they are in the house in a Styrofoam box with a window in the top!

Then when hatching begins, I am a mess and get nothing else done!

I feel for you Sadie Sue! Just keep your eye on the prize!

Ok, so we finally slaughtered the pigs today! Man the guys that came to do it were fast, 20 minutes. They got here, killed the pigs skinned them and then hung them in their truck and off they went. That brings me to my question.... I kept the feet for my dogs, but they are picky (never had raw food) so how do I need to cook these so they can eat them?
Thats so cool I wish I knew how to slaughter pigs, goats n cows. I bet that lil piggy will taste so yummy being home grown.

boil or bake them. I would bake them. You can put in lightly oiled shallow pan, toss some salt on, (or not) bake for 45 minutes  @350 or 375.

Thanks. But I wonder, wont that burn the hair and stink? These are not just the hooves, they are about 6 inches long.

Mine is about 50/50 grass moss. I am waiting for the moss to take over(very allergic to grass). I am gonna build a couple of 2x4 frames and cover with hardware cloth and that way they cannot eat it down to roots. I am thinking 2 2'x4' sections. And this is on the back side of the shed in the back of the 18,000sqft back yard

DH wants a "grass" yard, not a moss yard. We have a nice riding mower, and he can't justify riding it to mow the moss.

I just need to get the hardware cloth and zip ties to make my tractor. I plan to use caribeners to close the opening. Need to have water in there, but it will be shaded from the trampoline surface. It's a bigger one, so they will have lots of moss scratching room.

that;s a somewhat low temp, so doubtful it will stink like hair.
You could fire up the barbeque if you were worried and cook them that way....

What TPT is saying- you can also use a torch to singe the hair off first.
