Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

thanks for the help in identifying the mystery chick; I hate to hear it is a cockerel, but thanks.
One other person said it looked just like her 3 cuckoo marans chicks at 3 weeks of age and she felt it
could be a pullet. I guess we will just wait and see.

> Rats, the fog has swirled in from the coast. OK, my best eval of your situation is, it will be a Pullet, but on the other hand it could be a cockerel.

I use Bacitracin, it is a zinc based antibacterial ointment. Or any dual antibiotic ointment would work to as they usually don't have the pain reliever in them. Avoid triple antibiotic ointments, those usually have the pain med in them.

Where do you buy your Bacitracin? Do you go to a feed store or a pet vet office? Or do they have it at the drug store?

Didn't live there just played there. Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. Reseda and Sylmar as a kid DH and I had a house in Newhall for a few years before we moved up here. Lots of riding and critter chasing out there. DH and her family used to go to an Opal mine out there a few times a year. How long have you been in Washington?

I've been in Washington since 1993, but we go back to visit family every Christmas and every summer that we can't find a reasonable excuse not to. Honestly, I didn't move away from the Mojave Desert to go back in July!!!!

Question: when a broody raising tiny chicks begins to squat for me again, is that a sign she might leave the chicks and go back to egg laying too soon? I went to pet her today and she did a little involuntary half squat. I'm nervous I'll have to raise her chicks if she leaves them too early.
