Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Quote: I've got to get on that site today! I foresee a sizable order in my future - so nice to have these on hand for gifts. It's even more special when you know the crafts person who makes them. I'll PM you later today so I can pick them up in Monroe on Saturday!

A bit of unsolicited advice, so take it for what it's worth.

Rather than just getting a bunch of random chicks, I'd suggest getting White Leghorns if you want to sell eggs. That is the breed with the highest feed-to-egg conversion ratio, which will make a huge positive impact on your profits in long run. Good luck!

Yes, my white Leghorn is the most reliable layer, smallest, friendliest, most confident chicken I have. She's wonderful. She's the leader but never ever mean to the other girls. <3 Love her. She's followed closely by my Redstar. I got a black star thinking she would be just as good a layer as the red star, and while she is a good layer, her eggs are so small! The redstars are huge and she is a medium small hen.
Thanks!! I thought about that, but in all the reading I have been doing, they are supposedly flighty and I wanted some that were more mellow. My little Danish is not as friendly toward me as my other chicks are, and is very fast and hard to catch. That's why I named her Flo-Jo.

I think she thinks she is a road runner. I appreciate all advice. Hearing reading others' experiences is the best way to learn, IMO. I have been bouncing around in the different threads, trying to absorb as much knowledge as I can. I want to do fryers and a turkey too, but cannot wrap my head around having to do the processing, so am on the fence.

Haha--> it doesn't get much more redneck than this:

BAHAHA!! I saw that one too! Hil.ar.ious.
You must have missed the VW Bus made into a coop -- it was for sale last year -- I think he was asking 1300 for it.
I actually wanted the VW bus. I love all things VW, but hubs would not have appreciated it at all. I thought it was great!! I guess that is the inner hippie in me.

I want your sunflowers! I saw them last fall, they were beautiful! You know I'll take any plants you have. I'm not familiar with evening primrose (other than the oil ;) ) but the pictures online look like little yellow flowers? I would love strawberries, but probably not raspberries (are the invasive and/or thorny? I don't have a good place for them right now I don't think)
Sunflowers and primroses for Slinglings!

could you bring a couple lotion bars for me? maybe one oatmeal milk honey and one bonsai. thanks!

Yes, I'll bring OMH & Bonsai lotion bar for you!
