Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I think this would be great for the back of the house and a path out to the trucks. We've looked at some smaller tractors the last couple years and keep talking about getting one. That would make digging out the ground doable.

As for small spots with a weed or two, I like to go out in the summer when it's dry and pour vinegar on them.

DH isn't thrilled with the idea of putting more rocks on the property. LOL. I do like pavers. Except the laying the bed and putting them in one at a time. Well that was on a 20x30 patio and with holland pavers at Mom's that I put every single one of in. Couple years ago we put in the big 18x18 cement pavers on the side of the house and up along the patio there which helped a ton since nothing would grow on that side of the house and the neighbors cats were using it as a litter box. It's so much easier to do everything down at Mom's with that sandy soil.

I'm going to try and find some wood chips. It's the dang reed canary grass that sucks. It grows way to fast here and nothing likes to munch it.

Seems like the right timing to be her first. Yay. Amber(GSL hatched around Sept 15) has been laying since late Jan, but she should have since she is a sex link. Peep(EE hatched same) has been laying for 2 weeks now. I would say that Latte is a layin

It IS Latte's egg!

Since she laid her first egg on Easter day, she'll now be known as our Easter chicken.

Alright, I should be getting my roo Rodney tomorrow. I think I will give him a bath before I apply Eprinex. This may be a dumb question, but how should one go about bathing a chicken? I've washed dogs before, but since feathers are quite different from fur/hair, I wasn't sure if it should be approached another way. Thoughts/advice?

I saw an awfully cute BO hen in the main chicken barn and decided that he needs a friend during his month-long quarantine period.

So much for painting !
We got 3 sides downstairs done in the cracks of the T-111...........all ready to spray & roll today but it has rained all day !!!!!!!!!

So, we opened the delivered showers up, 1 had a big crack & will be shipped back, and it did not have the shower seat either............So, I packed the rest of the bales of R-38 insulation upstairs, and then the 4 piece shower that was OK.....and now my kneesles is screaming !!
Time to sit & take a short break..............& say HI !!!

I am still what I would consider a "new egg" at all this chicken business. This morning, I saw my first "wet" egg! It was amazing. I got the egg while it was still "wet" and it dried in a matter of seconds.

That was pretty cool, nature is amazing to me right now as laying hens are still a novelty!
