Here's my reply to FWJ a teeny bit ago (edited to add more detail):
"It's just layer crumble from DeYoung's in Woodinville.
I should probably try to find a better food, but the question is, will they eat it? They're such twits for not wanting to eat Paul's food. When they start making their own crumble, I plan on trying that.
As for breeds, half are bantams. Six Belgian d'Anvers (5 are almost 4 and the other is a laying pullet), an elderly non-laying OEGB and an elderly non-laying Silver Sebright. The latter two aren't as bad as everyone else, I've noticed. I've got an elderly non-laying barnyard mutt who is also not quite as bad; she's actually fairly sturdy for her size. The other elderly non-laying bird is a GSL, but she's quite skinny like the other LF. She's not laying, so you'd expect her to be better off. My younger birds will turn one this year. Two are BLRWs, two are Australorps, one is a BR, and the other is a BSL. They're all perfectly active and happy."
They've always been like that. They always have food and fresh water. They were on medicated feed as chicks, but I haven't treated them for cocci. They've never had abnormal poops and they haven't shown signs of illness.
