Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

of course I'm serious! I love company, especially chicken folks!  I can whip up gluten free chocolate chip cookies in 5 minutes:D .

I know that drive going southbound on Fridays is hard- my DH did that drive for 2 1/2 years, and every Friday was a terrible traffic jam from Tacoma to Olympia. it was very tough working in Seattle and commuting home to Tumwater. :rant

I do greatly miss living in Olympia sometimes- abnd I do miss shopping at the Olympia Co-Op. I have been unable to find organic, non-sulfered yellow raisins- it seems the only place that carries them is that Co-Op!! I have this infatuation for yellow raisins- love them in my oatmeal and in baking!  I swear I'm ready to have them mail me some! There's some crazy plot against organic yellow raisins in King County- I'm convinced!:barnie

I don't think we are going to the Vancouver show- long drive- and we still have lots of work to get our garden in- first garden at this place- and it's gotta be big enough to preserve lots of stuff.  Besides, I'd be tempted to enter my GLW broody in the show- but {{sigh}} she'd lose out as soon as the judges saw she was raising little mutt chicks! :jumpy
(figure this puzzle: how does one take blue-green eggs from EE hens covered with RIR-mixed roosters, and get bright yellow chicks?)

Sweet ! We'll def have to get together..... Im dying to try your cookies :) I have no idea how yellow chicks showed up, chicken genetics are still beyond me ;-)

I think I see (potential) trouble on the horizon ! ! !

Well. I'm down 2 birds thanks to Flirty31 and her nice DH.

Thank you so much, you have a wonderful chicken home (and human home)! It was awesome to meet you! You were so helpful, and I am so excited for your growing flock!

Thelma is such a sweetie, I am actually watching both of your hens right now. I hope they like it here! They were so quiet on the ride home, and they were both so sweet when we took them out of the cage. Thank you so much for the Eprinex too, that was really nice of you!

I could tell it was hard saying goodbye, that's why DH said "you can open it." He could tell you really love your birds. They look so healthy and they are so sweet, I can tell they have been well taken care of.

I will try to post some photos on a clear day so you can see how they're doing in their new home! Thank you so much for giving me a new EE to replace mine that died so unexpectedly. And for giving me a BCM, the last breed on my "list" (for now

I've never met anyone I'd trust more to give a similar lifestyle to my chickens, I hope you enjoy them! It was so nice meeting you both, maybe we can get together again soon just for fun :)

I am going, but I am not going to show anything. Have to take oldest DH across the river to Portland for a sailing regatta Saturday and Sunday. Just not very convenient this year to bring birds. But I will be there to check out the birds for a little while on Saturday.
Hopefully next year I will have more birds to show and no DS and team mates to drive around. He will hopefully be busy with college and a job! Lol!
I laughed out loud at this one.
Wow! I really need to get these right in the future! I must have been tired again. Lol! Glad I could bring some humor to your evening!

Hey CR! You will be in very serious trouble with that many "bators"!

I have broody silkies all the time now, they keep taking turns and I keep letting them. I shoud be up to my eyeballs in silkie chicks by summer. Oh, I am also getting some black silkies chicks from another breeder in the next coupke of weeks, so that should bring me up to my eyebrows by summer. Good luck with those bators! Hatch away!

I never expected that in getting chickens, I would become part of this bigger community! And you are so sweet! I took a photo of your gals for you:

They seem to be doing pretty well! Now if it would only stop raining! They're a little tentative, getting used to new surroundings, but they're sticking together! The EE is SO sweet and docile! My Barred Rock is similar, but not as easily handled, so this one is just a sweetie! She's pretty much my husband's new favorite!

Hey, if your serious I do the drive about once a week, usually up fri or say, and down sat or sun, I would LOVE to come and visit!

This run was almost too many stops even for me :)... I left Bellevue at 1 and got home at 9:30 with 4 stops(1for dinner) the child was DONE with riding in the car by the time we got to dinner/sleepover for him... Then I still had an hour drive home .....

Are going to the Vancouver pnpa show on the 20th?

We could probably work something out where I got to the co-op and then mail you raisins, you know.

I'm grateful to those who move closer to work; people from here who work north are one thing (because jobs are where you find them) but those with jobs up there who move down her on purpose... well, there's a reason real estate agents don't make appointments on Friday afternoons, or any time that involves going past JBLM main gate at 4pm. Thurston County is a great place to live but a rotten place to commute to or from.
