Just found the sweet littlest one fast asleep like this:

Once he's out, he sleeps like a rock!

Ok you clever coop builders.... I've been toying with this idea for quite a while and I want your input. Trav... I think this is your fault having made your pallet coop.

Wouldn't it be possible to use several of these doors, attached to one another to make coop walls? Then painted to resist the weather? I'd even leave the door knobs on as decoration!
What is the downside to this idea?

Oooh! That would be an awesome lookin' coop!!! They look pretty well sealed, but if they are hollow core pressed wood doors, coat the snot out of them with an outdoor primer/SEALER. I am thinking you have a VERY cute soon-to-be-coop in the making!!!

HE IS GORGEOUS!!!!! They both are, but WOW!!!
Note: tired people make bad decisions. I've averaged under six hours of sleep a night for the past week, and have been going flat out on projects for two.

I was out finishing up chores and had just put the sheep's oatmeal and apple in his feed pen and then put the eggs (nine, out of eight chickens. Malvina laid two eggs between 7pm last night and 5pm today, and one a day yesterday, Friday, and Thursday) into the oatmeal scoop to take them in the house. The sheep walked calmly up to me so I just let him loose, with a plastic scoop full of eggs in one hand and no crook to enforce my authority in the other.

I'm sure the crescent shapped horn bruises on my right shin will heal by the wedding, right? And I'm sure my right arm will be fine by Thursday, after using it to power him away from me and stay upright while I did so. I outweigh him by a LOT (Jacobs are not big sheep!) but he's got the four wheel drive thing going for him.

I wasn't thinking. He was pissy when I pegged him out, and more pissy when I moved him with his chain exactly long enough not to be able to reach any of the roses, and I had no business letting him loose when I had my left hand full of eggs and my right hand empty of the crook. STUPID. If he had wanted to break my leg instead of just express his displeasure, he could have done so.

Hope you feel better, and I for one, cannot wait for you to have a VACATION!!!!!
We are on our way home from Olympia with honeysuckle hills, sudsy chick and terror bird. We saw Sadie sue's play, based upon the movie resevoir dogs. She was wonderful! We went out for a nice meal with her sister and mother as well, and I even got a nice hug and kiss from her mother

. She was very sweet.

I also received the email about advertising in my posts, which I dont think I've ever done. This is the only thread that I ever post on at BYC, someone here must be complaining

. Slinglings is my user name everywhere and always has been, even before my business, so it's not like I'm going to change it now.
That's awesome you guys got to go see SadieSue's play!! I bet it was great!! Yeah, I don't see the reason for anybody being reported. I love the fact that you guys list the VERY COOL things and chickens for sale and wish I had more disposable income to BUY EVERYTHING LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!

I don't know what is going on. Maybe it is a new peep who is misguided, perhaps a new moderator. I don't recall anyone advertising their wares on this forum and I'm on this forum daily, all day except when the weather is good, then only in the morning and then in the late afternoon and into the night.
Heck, everybody sells eggs, everybody has eggs. Most of mine go to neighbors as a gift or I barter for a service and like you I don't have enought eggs to really sell. The demand would soon outstrip any production I could manage.
As for peeps that do crafts I really don't care, I love hand made things. Stuff hand made is much more personal then production stuff.

Dave - I have no help, no truck, no strength in my arms due to chronic nerve pain. I cannot pick up anything...needs to be delivered or shipped. I have no help and no strength to paint anything or make modifications like adding hardware cloth, roosts, etc. DH works 100+ hours a week right now. SO, I need something for $200-300 that is READY, in GOOD shape, painted, and perfect for a broody and chicks. Wanna make me something and deliver it? No...really...want to?

The reason I chose that coop in that material is because it is easy for one person to put together alone, sturdy, won't rot from being set down in the grass or dirt permanently, has a window and 2 levels and plenty of room for a broody and chicks, and the price point is right.

IF ANYONE CAN BUILD (AND PAINT) SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THE AFORE MENTIONED COOP FOR $300 IN THE NEXT 2-3 WEEKS TOPS, I WOULD LOVE THAT BETTER!

Asking this again...I could have sworn someone on here said they make washclothes for fun...anyone? TIA!

I must have missed your first post asking; My Mom was knitting handmade (duh) wash clothes that she actually said were for doing dishes.....I can ask her, she was cranking out a mess of them a day for a while.........

I gotta get to work, but wanted to say Thanks for the kinds reviews about my cockerels, and:
